In the course of a speech Dr Jameson hinted that Mr Schriener, whoso entry into polities cabled on October 20th will possibly be tho leader of the new Unionist party formerly known as tho Progressives whose present broad policy of developing agriculture, commerce and mining, puts the country's interests before ! that of party. Received Nov. S 8.15 a.m. Capetown, November 8. At the unveiling of tho bust of Mr Cecil Rhodes at Graliamstovm Dr Jameson said that although the colonies had received a slap in tho I face at tho Conference, Imperial preference would como as sure as fate. Meanwhile South Africa would continue picferenco until tho Motherland released its inevitability.
