LITTLE ARNOLD.
Ho came and went, the little child, Just twelve weeks old, ho passed away To Eden’s Garden, nndefiled, Like those still lights at dawn of djty: _ The parents grieve, tho mother sad ' With deep but inexpressive pain; Could she but know, she would be glad. He* took'from Earth no spot, nor stain; As whole and pure as driven snows, Baptized but just a week before Christ aud tho Angels he but knows, Aud Eden’s memories evermore; He soon will learn of mother’s love From Angels, aud will learn to pray That she and all may pass above Aud share with him the Eternal Day: Christ and the Angels doth ho hear; Christ aud the Angels doth he see; With babes aud sucklings singing clear His own sweet notes of melody: “Not lost indeed-, but gone before, n Whore wo in heart should daily rise From Earth’s surroundings, and adore The Eternal Saviour in tho skies ; O little child, pray for us all That wo become" a child like thee; And so may share, whate’er befall Thy sweet and bright tranquility.’’ A.Y.T.
