LORD KINSALE is a bright hay horse with plenty of bone and hair of the best quality, together with a good temper and grand action. He was bred by Mr Ruddock, of Canterbury. His sire Lord Roberts 1 sire Lord Lion, winner of twelve firsts and twelve champion prizes. His grand sire, Lord Salisbury (1205), imported, winner of first prize at Ayr, 1870, as a two-year-old, first prize at Kilmarnock, 1877, and champion mod 1! for best horse in the yard. In the same year he won first prize at Dairy, first at Ayr, first, at Glasgow, and first at the Highland Society’s Show at‘Edinburgh. Alter coming to New Zealand, Lord Salisbury won a large number of prizes. He was first at Dunedin in IBS’, first and champion at Taieri in 1883, first and champion at Dunedin and Taeiri in 1884, and first and champion at Dunedin in 1885 and <BB6.

Lord Lion’s dam, Myrtle, by Prince of Wales (imported), grand dam Molly McKissock,_ was imported by the lato Mr McAllum, liar sire Lord Lion (4896 G. 5.8.) Molly McKissock took first prize at Ayr'and Dumfries in 1897. Lord Roberts’ dam, Queen by Time of Day, by Vanquisher, imported from Scotland by the late Mr D. Nesbut, great grand dam, imported from Tasmania, by Lincolnshire Hero. Queen won the first prize as a two-year-old at Oamaru in 1890, second prize as a brood marc at Oamaru m 1897, and was placed first ns a dry mare in a. strong ring at Oamaru in 1898, and won the first prize as a brood marc and champion medsl for best mare or filly in the yard at Oamaru in 1899, and when nine years old was sold for 100 guineas. First and champion prize and first as mare with two of her progeny at Oamaru in 1900. LORD KINSALE’S dam, Lady Chattam, by the well-known sire Chattan, bred by Mr Alexander McKenzie, Geraldine.
