I will be Castrating Colts in the following districts this Season : Fcilding, Ehmbolton,.Sanson Bulls, Halcombe, Eaugitikei and Huntervino. Remember, I do them standing untied. The colts have absolute freedom of limbs, there is no chance' of straining, as in the old methods. Comments by well-known settlers and horsemen— Mr W. J. Simpson, Iluntevville, says—- “ I wouldn’t take £5 and run the risk of throwing and tying my colts after having had them done standing." Mr .Tohn Cameron’s old pony (Maungahoe)wasiu work inside three weeksfrom date of operation. He was 14 years old. Mr G. W. Shannon’s trotting stallion Con Riven, 6 years old, was in work in less than 3 weeks from date of operation. Growers, Also,
Mr Thos. Cameron, the well-known Starter, says the standing method is good enough tor anything ever foaled. Mr A. J. Bailey, Ohakea, says:—“ I have operated on colts, the old style, for over 30 years. I had my colts done standing last season, and think the stand ■ ing method marvellous.” Messrs W. Phillips, Penney, Jean McKenzie, Williams, Job Harris, and many others of Sanson; also Messrs John Baldwin, Turakma; Sam Cameron and John Tricker, Bulls; Stock Inspector Miller, Feilding; J. Burton and Addsett, Colyton, endorse Mr Bailey’s remarks. Mr Jas. McGregor, Cluny, Turakiua, writes:—“My colts were done fine. It didn’t trouble the big horse one bit.” The big horse referred to is a full draught, 10J years old, unbroken, and never had a hand on him in his life until operated on. I have done horses standing from 4 months to 18 years old. Those wishing me to do their colts should write me at once to save disappointment. I will advertise dates of operation in .Advocate. J. D.
