Tho Times considers that the only satisfactory aspect of the Hardeu-von Moltke trial was the prompt and decided manner in which the Kaiser and the Crown Prince stamped out the poisonous elements of the court circle. Considering the deliberate attempt made to lower the Kaiser’s prestige by representing him. in a clique of depraved intriguers) Tho Times thinks that it is very mysterious that Prince von BueloW) who was cited as a witness for the defence, preferred not to appear. Herr Harden Acquitted. Berlin, October 30. Tho judge held that although the statements in the “Jakuugts” were libellous Herr Harden had proved his assertions that Von Moltko had an abnormal terperaineut. Although Yon Moltke exhibited effeminate characteristics tho judge did _ not consider that it had been established that he had committed illegal offences. Herr Harden’s acquittal was greeted with loud applause and some hisses.
While some German newspapers sympathise with Count You Moltke, others express surprise that no high official statesmen had had tho courage to protest to tho Throne against such a terrible scandal. Tho “Cologne Gacztto” considers that the credit of lancing a malignant tumour belongs to the Crown Prince and not to Herr Harden. Loudon, October 30. ” The “Daily Telegraph” applauds the conduct of tho Kaiser aud the Crown Prince and says that tho trial exposed a few guilty souls, but tho Sovereign aud the nation are unscathed;
