At the Tnrakiua fire inquiry the Prosidont, Dr. McArthur, stated that to try to get at the bottom of tho whole matter it would be necessary to bring the graders from Auckland and the Bluff to Wellington to give evidence. Dr. McArthur also stated that some of the bales stored in No. 5 hold had, since the fire and prevous to selling them, been opened and found to be heated. The Turakina Inquiry Commission visited the vessel. Two bales, with similar brands to those transhipped to the Rmvpehu, were examined and found to bo hot. Tho Oo\irt considered it advisablo to inform the captain of the Rnapehn of the condition of the bales so that he could keep watch ou them during tho voyage to England.
