The first series of reports received by the Intelligence Deuartmont from its agricultural reporters show a falling oil' of 208,541 acres under crop for gram. The Department adds, “ This gives quite an inadequate view of the falling oil" in the prospects for a good harvest- The tone of the reports is almost without exception gloomy and pessimistic. According to the present outlook wo will bo fortunate if we got enough wheat to supply our own needs for bread and seed.” At tho wool sales over 8000 bales were catalogued. Though there is very little change in prices, tho tendency is in buyers’ favor. Wheat to-day is quoted at 5s Gd. Meeeouene, October 21. Wheat holders have refused 5s led, while 5s old is wanted. Holders are not desirous of selling. Flour is at il 11 15s.
