(From Our Own Correspondent.) Tho variety ontertiiinmont and farco given by tho Apiti Comedy Company on Wednesday last was a groat success. No effort was spared by tho company to present a firstrate progmmmo, winch was (Inly appreciated by tho largo audiouco. Iu tho farco '' My Turn Noxt,'' Mr H. H. Stophousas "Taraxicuni Twitters," acted remarkably woll, and tho comical antics of Mr J. Pull iu the part of "Tim Bolus" kept the audience in fits of laughter. Mr Robertson pave a very natural rendering of "Tom Trop," whilst tho somewhat difficult part of "Mrs I Twitters" was admirably performed by Mrs S. Proust'. Miss Robinson niado a charming '' Cicely,'' and Miss A. Ross as "Peggy" was all that could bo desired. "Farmer \Yheatear" was impersonated by Mr J. Matt-hows iu a thorough manner. Tho stago management was left in t!ie hands of Mr J. Docko. It is intended to visit Rangiwahia and Kimboltou at an early dato, whon part of tho proccods will be devoted to tho local school funds. The woathor is atrocious and farmers aro sorely feoling tho effects. A considerable falling off is noticoablo iu tho milk supply. A start will bo made this week With the new public hail and tho Presbyterian manse is to bo erected shortly. Tho old hall is being converted into a storeroom.
