THE PRICE OF BREAD.
Tor Press Association. Auckland, October 12. The master bakers have decided to increase the cost of bread to 'ld per 21b loaf as from this morning. Tho Presidont of the Master Bakers' Association states that tho increase is unavoidable owing to tho prico of Hour which roso on Friday and Saturday until southern milling Hour now costs between £l2 10s and £l3 a ton, while it [* ;;];„ probable that a further increase will take place during the Yi'^ck. The price'of wheat, he'states, has also increased and holders will not sell except at the highest ligurc, tllQ supplies "being very limited and almost all tho mills short of grain. DuNJiDiN, October 1-J;. ! Owing to a-further advance in the local wheat market, the price of (lour has been advanced £1 per ton. ! It is not likely thst tho increase will entail a rise in the price of bread.
