Trentham Training Notes.

Per Tress Association ■Wellington, October 14 Training operations begun at Treu tliam to-day. Heavy raiu fell last night and this morning, and the tracks were sloppy. All tho work was dono outside tho courso proper. Mo.'Ufi. and Marseillaise sprinted six furlongs. Easy tasks were allotted Shrapnel Shell and Truth. William and Kurawaka, handicap candidates, ran onco round together, the last seven,furlongs at a solid pace. SwinimingJßelt, by himself, galloped sovoii furlongs at threo-quartor puce. Aeolus, palling hard, was restricted to half pace. Do Wit to improved his paco at tho half mile post, but was not asked to do his best. Of the Hon. Ormond's string of 10 tho most interesting work was dono by Zimmerman, wiio galloped once round, and was picked up at the mi.e post by Intelligence, the pair fiuishiu« together. Paritntu, All Red, and Gold Crest were amongst the | other horses which worked. October I<s. This mornius's storm interfered with training operations at Trentham. Some of tho horses were nottaken out of their boxes. Most at tho gallops wore done in hoavy rani and fast times were out of the question. Paritntu and Zimmerman wont a niilo together and took nearly 2mins. to cover t]io journey. Clauchattan went once round. Tupono cantered round to the three furlong post and sprinted homo. Marseillaise and Hoata gallopod six furlongs. Fleet-foot had'Do Wit to as a companion in a half milo spurt. Dawn ran throe-quarters of a mile -with Martyrium, tho first named appearing most at homo in the mud. Golden Gate went onoo round, tho last six furlongs at top.
