An interesting case,' in which tho custody of an illegitimate child was involved, was decided by Dr. MoArthur to-day The father, wno had sinco married another woman, stopped contributing to the .maintenance of tho child now nearly four yeai-s old, as he wished to look after it Ho had not- once been to seo it Since it was born. The magistrate held that 'tho mother should hayo custody and. ho ordered the father to pay 7s'a week towards the mamtonau'ee of tho child.
