rev Press Association. Wellington, October 15. Ten member.-! of Parliament, headed j by Sir Wililam (Steward, waited ou j the Minister of Lauds to-day with > request that tlio Land Bill should be amended in the direction of freeing | Crown tenants from the operation j of cropping regulations where they had put fifty per cent of the improvements required ou their holdings. The Minister in reply said the proposals of tho Bill when in Committee had been enormously ■ modified in tho direction referred to by the deputation. He took it that the deputation required a modification rather than the abolition of the regulations. He did not know to what extent this could be done, but lie would look into the regulations to see if the Government could not be milder in its requirements.
