ALLEGED SHOOTING CASE.

Per Press Association. Wellington, October 11. A young man named James McAllion was charged an the Magistrate’s Court to-day with having discharged a loaded revolver at a labourer named Thomas Smith, aud was remanded till tho 16th instant. It is alleged that Smith, who lives in Wingfield street, heard some men arguing in front of his house aud went outside to ask them to leave. As he returned to re-enter the house McAllion is stated to have fired two shots at him, but neither hit him. Tho men in front made a row, aud the police came up aud arrested them. One was drunk, aud was fined for drunkenness this morning.
