ALLEGED RAGGING.
Per Press Association. Timaep, October 7. In the ease before tho Magistrate, one witness after another denied having assaulted Bray in tho manner he described. It was admitted that one of thorn picked up an oil can and unscrewed tho cap in order to “oil his vocal organ because ho would not sing, but before they had gone any further Bray attacked them, and the oil was spilled over him in the scnlilo, tho oil can being knocked out cf tho youth’s hand. They denied the undoing of clothes and the uso of waste in the" face. Tho Magistrate said an assault had undoubtedly been committed, and the oncstion was of what nature. Bray’s statement that indecency was added was scarcely borne out, and ho was not convinced that it happened, or it would have made the case very serious ’indeed. Ho found all tho defendants .r-jilfcy of assault, and taking into account thoir small wages decided that a fine of A2 each would bo a substantial penalty. This was imposed with costs divided amounting to -£1 19s.
