Colonel Stanley, tho Australian. representative of tho firm of Messrs Armstrong, Whitworth and Co., has selected a site, subject to the approval of his Company, at Altona Bay, where it is proposed to establish shipbuilding works. Colonel Stanley states that his Company is desirous of becoming pioneers of the industry in Australia. They intend to send out a staff consisting of a superintendent and expert workmen, who will train operatives here. Colonel Stanley has interviewed tho Federal Minister for Defence on tho question of building torpedoors and destroyers for the Commonwealth.
