GAMBLING IN CLUBS.

At In. meeting of the Council of Churches last night the following resolution was adopted ‘ * That ijj. view of the evideuco received concerning the constant gambling in one of the oinbs m Yvolllngton, the Oonncil believes the police should have and should exorcise supervision of all clubs'in tins respect.” The Council proposes to ' pursue the question in’all ways in its power believing the public interest’' requires tho suppression of gambling in clubs.
