Mr Oarrnthers’ break-down proved more serious than was anticipated aud resulted, under medical advice, iu his resignation of the Premiership. . After a protracted Cabinet meeti ing-'Attorney-General Wade officially I announced at a very late hour last i night that the Premier’s health had ! given way under the strain and no i had boon compelled to send in his resignation. During the evening Mr Wado added that lie expected to bo sent for to-day to form a Ministry. Parliament will, as arranged, meet to-morrow. , Apart from the official statements j it is believed that the difficulties met with by Mr Oarrnthers iu completing I the reconstruction of the Ministry j bad something to do with his resigi nation.
