Mr Coghlan, in a letter to the Daily News, replying to that paper's recent attack on Australia, says' the annual increase of population of 2.5 per centum isfcertainly satisfactory and likely to be improved in the near future. Regarding other points' in tho article Mr Coghlan adds that the Australian contribution to the solution of great' questions is very considerable and great questions are not solved without great men.
