Addington Markets. Press Association. Christchurch, September 18. At the Addington live stock market to-day tiie yarding of stock was a small one and there was a good attendance. Fat cattle showed a rise in price. Fat sheep were firmer and store sheep sold well. Pigs, 'especially sows, wore in good demand, but store and dairy cattle were dull of sale. Store sheep: A line of soundmonth owes made 17s fid, wethers 20s 7d, and 3-tooths 19s Gd, while hoggets sold as follows: 20s fid, 19s fid, 18s 9d, 17s lid, 17s, ICs Bd, Kis Od, 18s 9d, 1.3 s 3d, 13s lOd and smaller lots 13s 8d to 17s Id. Fat lambs.—There wore 20 fat iambs entered, and they sold at 12s to 20s for smaller, and 33s to 30s for heavier weight. Fat sheep.—The range of prices was ; Extra prime wethers 33s to 37s fid, prime 25s to 31g, lighter 31s to 24s Cd, prime owes 31s to 2Ss od, others 13s 3d to 17s Id, prime merino wethers 19s to 24s fid. Fat cattle.—There was keen competition, and values improved to the extent of about 2s Gd per 1001 b for prime beef. Steers brought £0 12s fid to £l4, heifers £5 to £ll 10s, and cows £5 7s fid to £9 2s Od and £lO, equal to 30s to 32s fid for prime and 20s fid to 39s for prime and 32s Gd to 25s tor medium per 1001 b. Yoal calves sold at 5a fid to 40a, according to size and quality. Store aud dairy cattle.—Yearlings made 235, 15-months 335, 2-yoar heifers (good) £2 15s. dry cows 20s to £3 10s. The dairy coys wore mostly aged and in low condition, and wore dull of sale at £3 10s to £7 ss. Pigs.—Choppers sold up to £5, hacouors made 50s to fibs, equal to oil aud 5; Id per lb, porkers 25s to 40s, equal to od to SJAI per lb, largo stores 30s to 345, medium 25s to 28s, aud wcauers 12s to 19s. Stock Report. Messrs Dalgety and 00., Ltd., report on their Marton sale, of tho 17th instant, as holow: —Wo had a small yarding of sheep for which there was but little demand. A fair entry of cattle sold as . below: Heifers in calf 50s, empty cows 255, 2-year steers aud heifers £3 10s, 2yoar steers £3 Is, 2}4-year steers £4 3s, mixed yearlings 295. Antwerp Woo! Sales. Press Association—Copyright, Antwerp, Setpember 18. The wool sales have opened with fair attendance and good animation. There was good competition for merinos which advanced five centimes, ordinaries five centimes. Lambs sold equal to July rates. Crossbreds were quiet and neglected ; 2534 halos La Plata were offered, 557 sold.
