Racial passion has been running high av Orisfielcl, Maryland, and on July 28th led to the lynching of James Reed, a negro, who had murdered a policeman. The mob, which beat and kicked the negro to death, buried his body in a swamp at the edge of the town. The crowd returned next morning and dug up the body, and, amid yells and curses, burned It, after having riddled it with bullets.
