In another column Mr T, Andrew, Paliuoiston North, notifies that tho thoroughbred sires Strowan and also.tho draught Eire Royal Prince, will bo at tJie service of breeders and others in Palmerstoa and surrounding districts this season. Yesterday afternoon a representativo of this journal had the pleasure of inspecting these sires and found them to bo : n (ho ;best ot health and condition. Strowan is a dark bay horse, standing 35.2 and possessing great bone and substance. He is a well pcrfoj mod horso himself, and his iJrqgcny are 'following! in his steps. .Last season Strowaif was well up in tho list of winning sires, .lie is by Locjiiel, dani Marion. As a two-year-old ho had a brilliant career on tho turf. To mention all his performances would occupy too much space, but all particulars are published on cards, whidi will bo posted, ia any address Oaptain Webb, the old favourite, is a brown horse, standing 1G hands high, with groat bone, grand shoulders, good loin, clean hock, and splendid piop-Ziling power. Ha was sired by Natator, dam Fame. Ho_ was a racciiorse r,f the best dor scription. At the last sale of thoroughbred stock Captain Webb's progeny brought an average of 50 gnine-is each.
Tlio Clydesdale entire horse Royal Prince, rising 7 years, was bred by John Burgess, Esq., Herbert. He stands 17.3 hands high, has splendidbone, and hair of the right hind, and is a -horse of groat action. Ho is by Crown Prince, who still is considered ouo of tho very best breeding horses in Otago. Royal Prince has only been shown twice, .was second as a yearling, and first as two year old at Oamaru. He belongs to the very best family of draught horses now in the and only needs to bo seen to bo admitted to bo the best horse in the district. Hp lias proved himself ji snro foal-getter in the Manawatii district. For further particulars concerning these sires. Mr T.
