Inquiries bj the Health Officer with reference to the report that, five Maoris had died of measles at Kaipara subsequent to playing a football match at Port Albert, disclosed that the report was iucorrcet. Measles have, however, been vary prevalent among Maoris in Northern Wairoa. At Panto settlement three weeks ago one young man and. ’a boy died from measles, and another man died from injury caused by a dray passing over him It Is also stated that one man, ore woman, and two babies died from measles at the Maori setltement at Batley.
