EXPLOSION ON A BATTLESHIP.
Press Association. —Copyright. i- Tokio, September 17. A shell exploded on the Japanese warship Kashima during target practice off Sure. Foilr were killed and 36 injured, several fatally. Reuter states that the catastrophe was duo to an attempt to remove an nuexplodod 13-iuoh shell from the gun. The majority of the bystanders were fearfully mutilated. The Kashima was badly damaged. The fatalities include a lieutenant, two cadets and a staff officer.
