Tlio next case called was an application for relief by interpleader by the Alliance Assurance Company. This was a case in which the Alliance Assurance Company mado an application for relief against the claims of William Alfred Sandilands, solicitor, Arthur George Carty, solidtrr,/ William John Williams, liotclkeopi r, William Ernest Grantham, pastrycook, a'l of i’eilding. and the Public Trustee of the Colony of New' Zealand, and of the Deputy Official Assignee in Bankruptcy of the property of Michael Hyland, of Fcilding, plumber. The sum of money under d iscussion was XB3 2s. It appeared that the shop of Michael Hyland had been burned down, and the sum of .£B3 2s, the whole of his assets, was paid into court by the Assurance Company, as both parties claimed it—the creditors because the money had been assigned to them, and the D.O.A. on the ground that the assignment was void. Mr Yon Haast appeared for the D.O.A. and Mr Cooper for tho creditors, with the exception cf the Official Assignee. Matthew Hylaud gave evidence as to the state of his affairs. Evidence was also given as to the position of the guarantors. His Honor ordered the money to bo paid over to tho Deputy Official Assignee and distributed among the general body of c; editors, costs to be paid out of the fund, ______
