OBITUARY.
Mr W. Coombs
It is with much regret wo announce tho death of Mr W. Coombs, a well-known resident of Palmerston, who died at Hastings on Saturday night from heart failure caused by lung complications. Deceased was horn in Gloucestershire 1 - England, in 1842 and emigrated to Australia when very young. After spending some years there ho came to New Zealand and went through the varied experiences of most settlers, subsequently becoming proprietor of tho Ked ■Liofy Hotel,' Wanganui! After some time'-Mr Coombs ' came to the Manawatu and settled on the land as owner of a considerable area in the Pitzlierbert and Aorangi districts. After selling these estates ho invested money in property in the Square which he still owned at the time of his death. Mr Coombs was twice married and he leaves a widow and six children, tho eldest of whom is about 18 years of ago. He left Palmerston about IS niontb? ago to reside in Hawke’e payj where lie had puvchased'3oifie‘ : pr6f)ef£y; Mr Coombs had been suffering for soigq time -before his death, whiqh was so| altogether- unexpected.
