ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Wellington, September 10. At the inquest on Attica, who was dead on tho Kilbimie line, evidence was given by three persons who saw deceased fall and by others. Medical evidence showed that death was due to concussion’ of the brain. A verdict of accidental death was returned, no blame being attachable to anyone. Auckland, September 11. Frederick Doyle, a member of tho Permanent Artillery stationed at Auckland, died in tho Hospital this afternoon from effects of burns sustained in a kerosene la mu accident on the 19 th August. Doyle was arranging a lamp in the drill shed when an explosion _ occurred, the flames quickly igniting his clothing and causing the injuries. Dunedin, September 12. The electric cars were momentarily stopped this forenoon owing to a fatal accident to George Shrimptou, single, employed in Waipori electric power works as a general utility man. Shrimptou’s parents reside at Berwick. He was about 35 years of awo and had been engaged on tho works since they started. Pie is supposed to Have been electrocuted. He was one of tho best men employed at Waipori, and had been selected for promotion.
