There is great indignation in Belgium at tho Congo State having, on tho eve of annexation, placed King Leopold’s territories, comprising a domain of 289,375 square kilometres, under the control of a development syndicate. Tho Belgians considered that the domain would have reverted to the Belgian Grown in the event of annexation.
