Replying to General Botha, who enquired if there was work for tho unemployed in Australia, Mr Carruthers, Now South Wales Premier, states that he will bo able to place 200 Rand unemployed. Sydney, September 7. With reference to the cable from South Africa Mr Carruthers states that General Botha asked Mr Deakin if New South Wales could take unemployed miners and assist them by a subsidy? Mr Carruthers declined, hut said 300 could get work at the barrier mines during next two mouths hut they must pay their own costs.
