SERIOUS CHARGES.
Per Press Association. Wellington, September 4,
At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, Robert Humphries, sixty years of age, was committed for trial on a charge of having indecently assaulted a child in Wellington. Annie Whittaker and William Bond, charged with having used an instrument to procure abortion, were remanded for a week. Tho girl on -whom the instrument is aliened to have been used was so ill that Air Wilford, who appeared for accused, refused to cross-examine her.
