LORD CLANCARTY’S DEBTS.
The Earl of Claucarty’s affairs came before the Dublin Bankruptcy Court in July. His lordship was examined in regard to a bill of sale over racehorses which lie had given to a moneylender, named Isaac Abrahams, from whom, it was stated, he had received advances. Some of the debts were for largo sums for jewellery. A trader named Lewis had obtained judgment for £I9OO for jewellery. Lord Olancarty, in reply to counsel, said the jewellery had been sold in Loudon some mouths ago. He recieved for it over £IOOO, and this sum he had applied towards the payment of private debts—gaming and betting and that sort of debt. His lordship was also examined with reference to a deed executed by him last year, whereby he assigned to trustees all his life interest in lands in Roscommon and Galway, giving power to apply the proceeds in such a manner as should be thought fit for the benefit of himself and his famliy. The hearing was adjourned.
