RUA'S DOINGS.

Rua says that his great temple is just about to be finished The building is round, with two storeys. When it is completely finished Rna wiil call a groat meeting of tho faithful aud select eighty members for tho lower chamber and twelve for tho upper. Rna himself will occupy a throne and appear as king. This will be tho means of abolishing the present Parliament at Wellington. In October tho Governor will proceed to Maungapohatu to see Rna. After a formal meeting between Rna and the Governor, tho latter will bo sent back to Wellington, to send boxes of gold to Rna, which will bo distributed to. the faithful. A letter from tho Governor has readied Rna, in which the Govern- j incut purchase of all tho Tulioo lauds is arranged, Rna to assess the value of the different classes of forest, > swamp, and fern lands. Rnatoki settlement is in a parlous .state, its foundations being all loose and ready to give way. A groat flood, 800 feet in depth, will submerge tho valley, and drown all tho inhabitants.

This prophecy is aimed at Kororu, who lias refused to join the Rna movement. An officer of the Matatua Maori Council was sent to Maungapohatu to collect the dog tax. Ou his arrival there Rua came out of his wharo with an axo aud threatened to kill him if he did uot at once leave tiie place with his dog collars. The officer’s name was Whareponri Te Amo. To-Amo-Kokonri was also threatened with a gnu for bringing away the body of a girl who bad died.

The people who have returned count up 4(5 deaths at Maungapohatu this winter, mostly children, who have been done to death by the absurd religious observances imposed by Rua on the people.—Wiiakatane Press.
