ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

At the inquest held this afternoon touching tlio death of a little girl named Agnes Florence Webb, who was smothered by a fall of sand in a pit at Linwood yesterday, a verdict of accidental death was returned. AVeui.ixgtos', September 3. At the inquest on the body of William Chas. Whiteford, who foil dead while forking with others on a telephone lino, medical evidence showed that death was due to heart disease. The jury returned a verdict accordingly. W. J. Hamilton a prominent figure in Association football circles, died suddenly this -morning. Walter Jennings, labourer, who had been ill since Sunday, apparently suffering from influenza, died suddenly to-night. Deceased had not been medically attended. Humphrey O’Rorko, clerk in the Advances to Settlers office, was found dead in his bed at the Railway Hotel, Thorndon to-day. Death was'duo to natural causes,
Beekheim, September 3, At tlio inquest on Frank Lefroy Lawroy, killed whilst working on a traction engine on Monday, a verdict was returned that deceased mot Iris death while putting the belt on the driving wheel but there was no evidence to show that anyone was to blanio. '
