There is increasing acrimony between Sir W. Lyno and Sir John Forrest. The latter, while explaining ills position in regard to the Braddon Clause and old-age pensions, remarked on tho position of Government in the matter.
Sir W. Lyno interjected “The exTrcasnror must not presume to speak as a member of tho Government.”, Sir John Forrest: “You want to repudiate thb Prime Minister. Sir W. Lyue :I want to repudiate you. ’ ’ Sir Joim Forrest; “Ob, you’re a humbug. ’ ’ It is rumoured that Mi BrucoSmith aspires .to the leadership of the Opposition.
