Wool, Skin ami Hides

Tho Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd., Wanganui, report At our sale on August 22m1, wo submitted a catalogue of 3.J4 bales and 51 bags wool, 900 sheepskins, 5 hides, also tallow and sundries. Tho wool offered was principally crutchiugs, dead wool ana stragglers’ fleece, and met with a fair inquiry, prices being on a ■with recent sales. Sheepskins we__ keenly competed siightlv above last sale’s rates } neltcd medium and flue cros.hred sold exceptionally well, and the drop of f.<d per lb recorded from London did not appear to affect local con notition. Wo carried through asatis-Pu-’orv business in all descriptions of hides at rates fully equal to last a ..; . prices, but competition loi faulty and'slippy hides was again weak.
