The Committee decided to expel ] eiriit footballers who had been suspended by the Wellington Rugby Union for professionalism, also to ask various Unions to supply ilia full names of persons from their district who have joined tho professional team. , , , . ~ Mr Edgar Wylie, m Ins report ou the recent tour in Australia, said that toe enthusiasm of the people for _ tho Lugbj game is very warm, and there is a masked improvement in the play, particularly in Now South Wales. The ground at Three Kings purchased by the Union a few years ago for £3360 is now valued at £9600.

Nkw Plymouth, August 22. The representative Kngby match Auckland v. Taranaki was played hero today in the presence of several thousand spectators. The weather was dull, rain tailing (luring the second spell and making the hall diliicult to handle. The game was hard fought and exciting, but except for occasional rushes did not reach a very high standard. The game resolved itself into a contest between the tine pack of Auckland forwards and Taranaki backs, and the latter lasted the longer, the visiting forwards being run practically off their legs in the finish by heart-breaking lino kicking by the local backs, particularly by Hardgraves, whose all round exhibition as full back bas noverjjoen excelled locally. In the lirst spell Cameron scored for Taranaki after running right through Ins opponents, Hard graves • converting. McCormack scored for Auckland midway through the second spell after a good run by Murray, the game ending
