Below are quotations;:—fcwe hoggets extra well grown and now - ily woolled. 13s 3d, good ewe noggets Kis 4d to 10s Bd, small owe hoggets 14s (id, good wether hoggets las, 15s Id, 15s 3d and up to lte ioi a well grown lino of good conditioned sheep, fat and forward wethers'realised 20s, and a line of aged Lincoln ewes in lamb los Gd. A small yarding of cattle, eluchy dairy's,' were dull of sale. Icarlmj,' to 18-montlis' heifers 255, store cows 30s and forward cows £2.
Per Press Association. CffitiSTcnuiicH, August 21. At the Addiugton* live stock market to-dav there was a moderate entry of stock arid a good>ttendance. All classes of sheop, except imfinished fats, fat cattle, aud pigs, sold well. : , Store Sheep.—There was a good demand for all sorts, and prices were firm. Among the sales were—Ewes, 70 f.m. XBs Id, 80 0 and 8 tooth 14s 9d, 181 3 tooth 14s (id, 337 at 13s, 43 12s 3d, S 7 aged 10s ad, other lots <Js to 13s Gd. Hoggets, 31 at 15s 3d, f at 14s 2d, 108 at 14s 3d, 89 at 13s 9d, C 4 at 13s (id, 177 at 13s 3d, 55 at Is Bd, 71 lis 3d. Wethers 33 at IDs 41) 18s lOd 85 15s Bd. Fat Lambs.—Prices for the best sorts ranged from 14s to 31s Gd. Fat Sheep.—Prime wethers 33s to 30s, medium 20s (id to 23s (id, unfinished 18s to 20s, prime ewes 2ls to 2Gs medium 17s to 20s, aged 12s Od to 13s Gd, prime merino wethers to 5s ia, prime 17s Gd to 21s lOd, others 13s to 17s Fat Cattle.—The yarding of fat cattlo totalled 213 head, and a large proportion were very prime sorts. Steers broughtJßC 17s (id to£l3 is Gd heifers £5 7s Gd to £lO ss, cows £4 10s to £8 ss, equal to 23s to 2Gs tor prime, 27s Gd for extra and 21s to 22s Gd for medium per 1001 b. A good yarding of veal calves sold at 4s"" (id to 65s according to size and quality. Store and Dairy Cattle.— Yearlings lis to 15s, 15 to 18 months 31s to 40s, 2 year steers £2 18s, 3 year heifers £2 10s to £3, dry cows to 40s. The dairy cows offered were mqstly inferior sorts, and were dull of sale at low rates, the top price being £7. Pigs.— Choppers sold well, ranging from £6 15s to £7, a prime line of 16 Berkshire baconers averaged £3 15s, and 18 from Chatham Island 44s to 60s. There were no other heavy weight baconers in, and lighter sorts made 45s to 555, equal to to Gd per lb. Chatham Island stores sold at 25s to 355, medium stores 20s to 345, light 16s to 18s, and weaners 12s to 14s.
Frozen Meat. Per Press Association. N.vriEU, August 22. The 0.0. and D. Co. Loudon today cabled the following report on frozen meat:— To-day's quotations are: Canterbury mutton Wellington and North Island 3%d ; lamb, first quality 5Wd, second .%d; beef, hinds 3%<1, fores 2%d.
