J' Albert-son testified at tho inquiry that lights were lit for 1G 'or 17 nights after having Now Zealand but not lighted on five or six nights as they were short of oil. Ifo denied that thoy had run out of o'.l on the night of the collision and stated that the lamps were lit that When the lamps were not lit a man stood by ready to light them at a moment's notice- The seaman whu was at tho wheel between 2 and 3 on tho morning of tho collision stated that the lights were burning brightly when he was relieved.
