LOSS OF THE VIKING.

AUCKLAND, August 20. News by the mail shows that the Norwegian barque Viking was sunk in collision with the American ship Atlas, which arrived at Roi de Janeiro in a half-sinking condition. How Oapt. Peterson and his wife were lost is yet unexplained, but it is believed he waited too long to save papers in the cabin and went down with the vessel. Tho crow were saved.
