Per Press Association. j Auckland, August 10. G. Smith, W, VT. Wynyard"and T. C. Dunning, all of Auckland, left for j Sydney this evening to join the Now Zoa- j land professional team. ! The committee of Auckland' Rugby j Union has decided to disqualify for life | all Auckland players who took part in the i match against New South 'Wales professionals on Saturday last so soon as their names are definitely ascertained. Auckland, August 20. Nicholson, Cunningham, Gillect and Francis, Auckland members of the Now Zealand team, returned hy the Mokoia to-day. The first three being unable to travcl_ south with the'Aucklaud team, which left this afternoon, their places are being filled by Hooper and Walsh, of Auckland, and Smith, of Thames.
Mr J. Manning, of Palmerston North, has been selected by the N.Z. Referee s Association to officiate as referee in the Auckland—Taranaki representative football match to be played at Now Plymouth on Thursday next. The secretary of Rangitikoi Rugby Union has received word from Awarna Union .stating that a junior representative team will play Raugitikel junior “rops. ” at Marton this season. The date for the match lias been fixed for August 28th.
