At the Court, before Mr A. Thomson, S.M., J. Dobson sued his three sons, J. A. Dobson, W. J. Dobson, and Loslio Dobson, for maintenance. An order was made to contribute 17s Gd per week. Williams and Co. v. S. Harris, claim £8 lis 4d, judgment for £5 15s 4d, costs 14s, solicitor's fee 15s 6d; Stanley Dixon v. R. Cobb, claim £22 lis lid, judgment for plaintiff, costs 235; Williams and Co. v. Nagel, claim £8 13s 7d, judgment for £7 3s 7d, costs 10s, solicitor's fee 265; J. J. Johnston and Son v. C. Jackson, claim £l9 4s 9d, judgment for plaintiff, costs 20s, solicitor s fee 15s Cd ; J. Woolston, jun., v. C A. Neilson, judgment summons, judgment for amount, in default five days in Wanganui gaol; J. Harrison v. G. Bunning, claim £34 10s, ordered to pay £2 per month; J. Wright v. A. McEwan, claim £1 12s, ordered to pay forthwith, in default three days in Wanganui gaoi; Rebecca R. Moore v. Ulias. Moore au order for maintenance, ordered to pay 17s 6d per week.

A large number of farmers and others journeyed to Wanganui to hear the results of the great land ballot of the North Waimarino sections, which takes place at Wanganai to-day, Friday. Considering the number of applications for each scetion it will be harder to draw one than it is to draw a horse in Tattersail's sweep. A case of scarletina was reported in Blaneaweka yesterdiy. It is to be hoped no serious results will follow.

The building trade at present is fairly brisk. Mr P. Rhodes is having a nice villa residence erected on his newly acquired section down near the railway station, he having disposed of his cottage in Raumaewa street to Mr Krebbs at a satisfactory figure. The new addition to the Presbyterian Manse is nearing completion, and will, when finished, make a very comfortable residence.
