LOSS OF A BARQUE.
Per Press Association, Auckland, August 16. Tho following wire has been received by Mr Crisp, one of the owners of the vessel, who 'is at present in Auckland, from Mr Martin, harbour master and pilot at Hokianga: —"A barque was sighted on July 20 and reported. She was painted the Craig colours—grey with black ports. 3S T o signals were exchanged. I know the old Margarita well and as tho Marjorio Craig, the only vessel I could have mistaken her for, is hero, and Capt. Campbell says that ho did not leave the Wade on that date and was not within 60 miles of here until Saturday night last, I feel confident it was tho Uonstanco Craig I .-uw. If she has had the hard winds which have prevailed here, viz., south-east and east until Aagust 8 westerly since then, she should have shown up again unless tho vessel has been disabled."
On.pt. Olitic, au experienced master mariner, credits tho report that the Constauco Craig was oft' ITokiauga ou Julv 2'Mh. and concludes that she was b'adlv knocked about but lost onlv deck hamper and that she was blown out to sea af cor being sighted oil" Ilokianga in a disable condition. She was a staunch vessel ami ho expects her to reach Ilokianga again shortly.
