A VENDETTA ENDS.
There has jnst arrived in Now York a young Irish couple with . a romantic courtship belaud them. Tlie.v are Mr John Fleming, of Wterford, and. Miss Maggie Ryan, of Kilkeuuy,. A few months ago they were to all outward appearances deadly enemies.
Two men, Flcmming and Stannard, were rivals for the hand of Miss Rayn. When it appeared that Flemmiug's love had grown cold, Stannard, at the instance of Miss Ryan, punished him for his alleged fickleness. Miss Ryan decoyed Fleming to the summer-house of a lonely farm, where by lantern light, the ladv holding the lantern, Fleming was stabbed by Stannard in] 21 places after a mock court-martial trial. A remarkable trail supervened, and Stannard was sentenced to one year's imprisonment. Since then, it seems, Fleming has recovered from his wounds and Miss Ryan, like Desdemona, loved him for the dangers he had passed and consented to become his wife. Tilie couple have to all appearances decided to let bygones bo bygones and settle down in the New World.
