The Auckland Star's Dargaville correstxuulc at wires that it is reported from Kaihu that on 'Ao.dnesdav evening throe lads, aged about iS,‘ broke into Tierney’s store and stole two rifles and 3000 cartridges, also took three horses from a paddock, and proceeded to Tutamoo where the following morning they raided Oliver’s store, taking a gun
and various goods. They then discarded the horses, which-returned home. The gang are.now camped in the ranges, which arc difficult to traverse’. It is rumoured that they stuck up a pedestrian iu a fruitless quest for cash. The police have the matter iu hand but the natives consider that the capture will be most difficult without the assistance of expert bushmou and 'natives. It is declared that the action of the boys is the outcome of a bushranging biograph recently exhibited at Ka-ihu and the lads are emulating the “Kelly Gang.”
