THE SCHILLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
SIR,—I have the honour to inform you that at a of meeting of Wauaguni citizens, held yesterday, it was decided to organise a national testimonial for Mr Webb, the champion sculler, and for that purpose to open subscription lists throughout the Dominion. I think you will agree with mo that Webb’s victory _ is a matter of more than local importance. The idea proposed is, if possible, to raise sufficient to buy a house for him, which will bo a- provision for himself and his family. I shall be glad if you will give this proposal as much publicity as possible, and if you will also arrange to receive any subsebiptious that may be offered. I may that at the meeting hold hero yesterday over £1(10 was subscribed in the room, I enclose a subscription list, and shall bo glad if you will do what you cau. The list closes ou the 33th.
