Stock Market.

The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a most successful sam o, dairy stock on behalf of Mr Walter Richmond, Taikorea. Tho cows, which were in splendid condition, elicited keen competition, and sold well, the highest price realised being £l4 10s. Young cows close to profit made £8 to £l4los, older cows £5 to £8 10s, backward cows and unsound cows £3 5s to £4 ss. The whole herd of 73, including 9 heifers coming to first calf, and aged and throe teat cows, made the satisfactory average of £0 17s (id. yearling ho iters £3 '3 2 year olds £‘.i. Figs, h’-r-es, implements, etc., sold well at fuL market rates.

Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., report on their Palmerston North stock sale on Thursday as follows : —There was a fair yarding of sheep, which sold at the following prices Fat ewes 14s to Ifis and 17s ad, small fat wethers 18s 7d, s.m. ewes in lamb 13s 4tl. There was a small yarding of cattle, which realised the following prices:—2o mouths to 2 year steers £3 18s Gd, fat bullocks £lO. Messrs Abraham and Williams report : At Palmerston on Thursday the entry of sheep was smaller than usual. The cattle yards were well filled, mostly with small lots of store cows and young cattle, principally heifers. A good tone existed throughout tho sale, and very few lots were sent a wav unsold.
