Press Association AUCKLAND, August 5. At the annual meeting of members of Auckland Pacing Club, the President, Hon. A. Witehekon, referred to the attack on the double eyont totalizator and stated that lie was in accord with the Premier when he said it should bo stopped. Mr D. O’Brien left for Sydney by the Mokoia with tho racehorses Marauui and Chamade. Volume, which was recently purchased for India, also left by the same steamer.
Riccarion Training Motes. Press Association, Cur.isTcncr.cii, August C. On Saturday morning Morrhval and Needlework easily defeated Lady Hunt) over a mile and a half in :>iuu olscc. Catch ’Em galloped a similar distance by himself. Bon Johnson and Laudlock gave a good display while jumping five flights of hurdles. Ben Johnson hit the last hurdle hard, and did not appear to bo going nearly so well at the cud of the gallop. Southern Cross started with them, but 'soon tailed off, his jumping being very moderate. Inuiskilleu, Evoulodo, Starlight, Decrslayor and Romany Lad wore companions in a schooling task over the steeplechase fences. The first-named quartette started over the hurdle at the top of the straight, on jumping which Romany Lad joined in. "They all continued for a circuit, taking the double twice. There wore no mishaps till the double was reached the last time, when Romany Lad ran off at the last fence. It was an interesting piece of schooling, Inuiskillou showing to greatest advantage. Evcnlodo made one faulty jump at the hack, and hit the second fence of the double, but otherwise gave a good display.
Waipu and' 1 St. Albert jumped live hurdles in good style, and Royal Shell got through a similar task by himself. Paritutu and Leesido did a circuit over the hurdles. Leesido jumped six obstacles, hut Paritutu was pulled off each time from the hurdle in front of the stand. The pair galloped round at a very solid pace, and Paritutu jumped well, his display being a marked improvement "on his previous exhibitions. Shrapnel and Le Bean jumped four hurdles attractively. Uranium was scratched for the Grand National. Hurdles at 10.30 this morning,
August G. The weather *is line for training, and the trades at Riccartou are in good order. Lady Annie beat Olanclmttau over a mile in linin 47soc, Bucclouch taking Imiu s:lsec without "being extended. Ivanoff did six furlongs in Imiu ISscc, Probable covering a similar journey in Imiu 19sec. Meyriwai and Waipu jumped five hurdles' attractively; Lull, by himself, was safe though slow over tight flights. Ouiraguo and Ability finished ‘together at the end of a mile and a half in Amin 50sce, Phaetouitis beating Kaitoro in a similar journey in2miu 50soo. Nadador and St. Koringa fenced well two’ circuits, "Nat lad or especially going well. Hutaua started with them, but fell at the third fence. Silk Web created a good impression, running the mile in Imiu 4Cseo. Leesido beat Bon Johnson over-a mile and a quarter, Southern Cross and Laudlock being several lengths away. Innistillon, Roscmoru, Irish, Loch Fyue were schooled twice round the big fences, giving "a'first" class display. Catch ’®m spd Lady Hune jumped ' six jiv-,-"._vs. Catch ’Em shaped well, easily batjv-.npjng his companion, whoso display was disappointing) Aqua Regia cleared out from' Vizier oyer five hurdles. Paritutu and Shrapnel covered the mile and a quarter }n Smiu JSsec, finishing together.
