Press jAssociation —Copyright. Melbourne, August 3. The Caulfield Grand National Hurdles resulted as follows:—Wizard 1, War Dog 2, Superstition 3. Ten started. Betting 7 to 2, Bribery and Wizard. War Dog, Superstition, Bribery, Wizard and South Head were in the van most of the way, but the last named fell the second time round. Then Paddy led for a time, but when nearing the straight was beaten and War Dog was the first to turn for homo, when Wizard came with a fine run and won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 6min 34}seos. The ex-New Zealander, The Swimmer, finished second to Wilgal in the Steeplechaser’s flat race.

The programme for the EgmontWanganui Hunt Meeting appears in another colunm, and is on the same lines as formerly adopted. It is a meeting that has grown greatly in favour with the hunting fraternity between Hawera and Rangitikei, and is a pleasant day’s outing on the beautiful grounds of the Wanganui Jockey Club. Nominations close with the secretary, Mr Sebly Morton, at Wanganui on Friday, 16th August.
