Stock Market.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : At all sales a good demand has existed for early calving young cows at prices ranging from £6 to £B, and good averages have been obtained. At Palmerston on Thursday a good yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward, and the following are quotations;— 4 year ewes in lamb to Southdown rams 20s 3d, fat ewes 1 <s to 18s 6d. A good lino of 254 woolly hoggets mde 16s lid. Mixed hoggets 12s 3d to 13s 9d, small hoggets 9s to 11s, empty ewes 9s to lis 3d, fat bullocks £7 Is, fat cows £4 to £o, forward cows £2 10s to £3 ss, store cows 33s to 40s, springing .heifers £3 17s 6d to £3 1 5s, 3 year heifers £* to £3 10s, yearling heifers 13s to 31s. At Mr James Sherman’s sale on Wednesday there was a large atteudance and good competition; 64 of the best cows sold at prices ranging from £6 to £l3 15s, averaging £7 <s 6d. The whole herd of 100 cows, ineluding aged cows, late calvers and unsound cows, made the good average of £6 us. Sows with litters £3 os to £6 2s 6d, sows in pig £3 15s to £5 i s 6d, young sows 235, poi'kers 18s 6d to 20s, slips 13s. Machinery and farm implements all sold at good prices. Sales of dairy cows have also been held during the week for Mr Spiers, Bunny thorpe, Mr Thomas, Kairanga, Mr A. Pritchard, Linton, and Mr H. Carter Montoa.

Messrs Dalgety and Go., Ltd., report on their Palmerston North sale as below:—We had a good yarding of sheep, the majority of which were sold at the following prices;—4 and 5 year old ewes in lamb 20s 7d, small 3 tooth ewes in lamb 17s In. A line of good ewe boggets 17s 9d. A fair yarding of cattle met a good demand. Empty forward cows £3 9s, 18 months steers £3 3s, £3 (is, and £3 10s, empty 20 months heifers 2s 6d.

Store cows 2os, weauer heifers 14s 6d, empty heifers 25s 6d, heifers in calf £3 10s, cows in calf £3 17s 6d to £3 10s, 18-months steers £3 18s 6d, 3year steers £4 7s 6d. At Mr Davis’s sale of dairy cows there was a fair attendance of buyers and good cows close to profit made from £5 to £B. At Mr Holland’s- sale on Wednesday buyers were present and the cows sold well, making to £B.
