Per Press Association. Christchurch, August 1. Haydn was scratched for the Grand National Steeplechase at noon to-day. Christchurch, August 3, Achilles was scratched for the N.Z. Cup this morning, and Scatter Cash for all engagements at the Grand National meeting.
Manawatu Racing Club
A meeting' of the above club was held was held last evening, the president, Mr E. S. Abrahams, in the chair. It was resolved to commence the Summer meeting on Saturday, Dec. 21, and to continue it on Thursday and Friday. Dec. 26 and 27. Mr P. J. Nathan, lion, treasurer, presented the audited balance-sheet, which was approved and passed. Several trainers and jockeys wore recommended to the Metropolitan Club for licenses. The annual meeting of the Club win bo held on Thursday, August 22.
