Government prohibited an Irish League meeting at Balia, in County Mayo, in order to prevent intimidation in connection with a boycotted grazing farm. Mr Esmond, in a letter to Mr John Redmond in June, declared that the Nationalist co-operation with English Liberals had now ended and their .battle-cry henceforth would be “Repeal of the Union.”
